Susan MacKay, Chairman of the Board

Ms. MacKay has 20 years of experience in product development and materials R&D including roles at 3M and Physical Electronics, Inc. Prior to founding Cerahelix, she was a founder and CEO of Zeomatrix from 2006 until 2011. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill and was named a Mass High Tech “Woman to Watch” in 2011.

Richard Schotte, Director

Mr. Schotte is a successful investor and fund manager. He is the President of the Maine Capital Strategies Corporation to which he brings more than forty years’ experience in financial and capital markets. He spent ten years with the investment division of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance, where he was a venture capitalist and later managed the company’s marketable bond operations. After MassMutual, Mr. Schotte spent twenty years as a fixed-income portfolio manager in Los Angeles with Capital Group, whose subsidiary Capital Research and Management Company manages mutual funds under the name The American Funds Group.

Matthias Wagner, Director

Mr. Wagner is founder of 1087Systems. He is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in bringing early stage hardware technologies to market. His roles focus on technology-product-market fit; key customer and partner development; teambuilding; strategic, angel and VC fundraising; patent portfolio building; system architecture and development. He has a BS in Engineering Physics from Harvard, and an MBA in Finance from MIT- Sloan School.

Sissi Liu, Director

Ms. Liu is a cleantech executive with 12+ years of sector experience. Most
recently, she headed up North American business development at Joule Unlimited Technologies, the pioneer in direct CO2-to-fuel production platform, powered by sunlight. At Joule, she managed the partnership with Audi and developed partnerships internationally as well as in the US. Prior to Joule, she led the management of the SEED Fund at the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust, which catalyzed seed-stage clean energy technology companies. Additionally, she has a background in energy policy consulting and investment banking with a focus on High Tech and Telecom. She has a BA in Economics and Math from Wellesley College, and an MPP in Public Policy from Harvard University.

James Banks, Director

Mr. Banks is an experienced executive in Process Engineering and Manufacturing industries. He co-founded and was President of Integrated Process Technologies, Inc. for 13 years prior to the company being acquired by LEWA. Under his leadership the company revenue and size doubled every 18 months for the first seven years with revenues exceeding $15MM. Prior to IPT, Jim worked in management at BioKinetics/KSI, and was a Senior Applications Engineer for US Filter and Sartorius companies. He brings over 30 years of process engineering and filtration expertise to his current dual role at Cerahelix as Director and VP of Applications Engineering. He has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maine.
