Susan MacKay, CEO
Susan has 20 years of experience in product development and materials R&D including roles at 3M and Physical Electronics, Inc. Prior to founding Cerahelix, she was a founder and CEO of Zeomatrix from 2006 until 2011. She has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill and was named a Mass High Tech “Woman to Watch” in 2011.
Karl Bishop, CSO
Karl Bishop has a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Syracuse University, followed by a post-doc at the University of California – San Francisco. He spent two years in product development at Tm Technologies- a venture backed biotech firm in Boston which was developing DNA diagnostics. Karl has 20 years’ experience in DNA characterization and manipulation, and is the principal inventor of the PicoHelix™ patented technology.
Jutta Von Dirke, VP Business Strategy
Jutta Von Dirke is a German Economist (Dipl.-Vw.), with early-stage financing and market research expertise. Jutta worked as a financial analyst for Deutsche Bank focusing on start-up Biotech and Information Technology companies. As a Research Associate for the University of Frankfurt, Germany, she performed research in environmental economics.
James Banks, VP Applications Engineering
Jim Banks has more than 30 years of experience in process engineering and filtration. He co-founded and was President of Integrated Process Technologies, Inc. for 13 years prior to the company being acquired by LEWA. He also worked in management at BioKinetics/KSI, and was a Senior Applications Engineer for US Filter and Sartorius companies. Jim earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maine.
